[F5] HA-Group 동작테스트(13버전 이상)

13이상 버전에서 HA-Group 동작

 

기존에 Threshold 옵션이 OS패치시 Minimum Member Count 라는 옵션으로 마이그레이션되어

같은 옵션이라 생각했지만 두개의 옵션에 동작 차이가 확인됨.

Minimum Member Count 설정의 경우 아래의 메뉴에서 설정 가능한데

Must have a minimum of 1 active members to process traffic.

이 영문은 ‘이 장비가 트레픽 처리를 하기위한 최소한의 멤버 갯수’로 해석하는 것이 맞습니다.

 

 

이때 설정한 멤버의 갯수 미만으로 떨어지게 될 경우

해당 설정 스코어 10점만 0이되는 것이 아니라 이 장비의 전체 스코어가 0이 됩니다.

만약에 이중화된, 두 장비가 Minimum Member 를 0/1로 설정하고 같은 링크를 down 시키면

실제로 스코어가 다르게 적용 됨을 확인 할 수 있습니다.

 

 

Minimum Member = 0 일때

 

 

Minimum Member = 1 일때

 

 

이런경우에 같은 link down 이지만 한쪽장비만 높은 스코어가 된다.

그리고 어떤 경우로든 두 장비가 0:0 조건이 된다면 MGMT IP가 높은 장비가 Active를 가져 가며,

명령어로 페일오버가 불가능 하다.

12버전의 경우 Threshold에 1을 넣고 down 시킬 경우

 

 

Minimum Member 와 다르게 해당 object 스코어만 0이 된다.

 

 

Threshold 동작확인을 위해 아래 추가 테스트를 진행.

tr_2에 interface 2개 적용 후 하나만 Down인 상황에서 Threshold 별 Score 결과는 아래와 같다.

     

 

Threshold 갯수 이하로 떨어지면 부분점수 없이 해당 object만 0점 처리.

 

결론 : 12버전에서 상위 버전으로 OS패치시 Threshold 값이 Minimum Member 옵션으로 마이그레이션 되지만 동작결과는 상이하다.

Old Behavior

In versions prior to BIG-IP 13.0.0, if the minimum-threshold is set to a non-zero value, only the component score for that individual component is set to 0 (zero) if the threshold is not met. The total high availability (HA) group score is the sum of the component scores.

New Behavior

Beginning in BIG-IP 13.0.0, if fewer than the minimum-threshold of objects within a component are available, then both the monitored component score and the total HA group score are set to 0.

For an HA group to prevent a traffic group from failing over, all of the resource types that you specify in an HA group must meet the defined minimum thresholds for availability.
